Huong Nguyen: Co-Founder and Creative Director
As the Creative Director of The Spotted Frog, Huong is responsible for the trademark look of the award winning showroom as well as managing all the portfolios of the designers to ensure quality and customer satisfaction are consistently delivered.  Backed with a Bachelors in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, Huong has professionally honed her interior design skills at IKEA in various strategic, management positions for eight years.  In 2008, Huong founded The Spotted Frog in conjunction with Linda Rennie to purse her life-long dream of operating her own company.

When you meet Huong, it’s hard not to be energized by her passion for beautiful spaces.  Her portfolio includes commercial and residential spaces ranging from 5,000 square feet executive homes to over 100,000 square feet retail showrooms.  Huong’s signature look is a dynamic space innovatively mixed with various styles.  She loves injecting color, patterns and textures to create a bold and high drama impression in the space.  Huong’s key talent is personalizing the space through the detailed touches that only accessorizes can evoke.  Because quality residential design is defined by trusted relationships, Huong’s down-to-earth and engaging communication style will ensure that the design process is not only transparent but approachable as well.

Should Huong actually find exclusive time for herself in between being a business owner, a designer and a proud mother of two little ones, you can find her stopping to smell the flowers in her garden or appreciating the beauty of nature.

Silvia Albus: Interior Designer

With 28 years of experience in varying levels of management at IKEA, one can say that Silvia was born for interior design.  Her extensive experience ranges from small to large scale projects both commercially and residentially. Her distinguished style is inspired by her love for our stunning West Coast geography.  By infusing a modern approach, Silvia’s look is a balanced, harmonious and quiet space that effortlessly commands presence.  Silvia loves the renovation aspect of design and her strength is in creating architecturally strong rooms.  Silvia believes that listening and understanding her client’s needs is a integral part of the design process.

When Silvia is not designing, you can find her gardening, practicing pilates, travelling or snuggling with her grandchildren.

Rachael Smith: Interior Designer

Our newest member to The Spotted Frog team, Rachael is a fresh graduate from the Interior Architectural Design program at Pacific Design Academy.  Dubbed as the “computer geek”, Rachael excels at drafting full architectural plans ranging from site plan to roof plan, elevations to section details and three-dimensional models to scale in CAD.  She is also skilled at producing full kitchen and bathroom design plans compliant to NKBA standards.   True to her Vancouver Island roots, Rachael’s key look is defined by an elegantly refined yet relaxed space immersed in a transitional style that endures generations.  Rachael knows that the perfectly designed space happens when she puts herself into her client’s shoes so her unpretentious outlook is a breath of fresh air in an often intimidating process.

If Rachael is not drooling over fabric swatches, she is surfing the Internet to catch up on the latest trends in the industry.
